ALUMNI COUNCIL LEADERSHIP AWARD
Presented by the SP2 Alumni Council to a graduating student

This award recognizes a graduating student who has been a leader in the SP2 community and contributed to the advancement of the School through his or her participation in School activities and support of the School’s mission.

This award is presented at graduation and includes a $200 prize.

Any student may nominate a graduating student in the MSW, MSSP, NPL, or PhD program for the award. To nominate someone for the award, fill out the online nomination form.

The SP2 Alumni Council will review all nominations and select the winner. The winner will be announced in March.

SP2 VIRGINIA P. ROBINSON PUBLICATION PRIZE
A Social Work writing contest open to all SP2 MSW and DSW students

This prize is intended to encourage creative writing in the field of social work in honor of Virginia P. Robinson as recognition of the great contribution she made to social work theory and practice by distinguished, creative teaching and writing. This contest is a partnership between the School of Social Policy & Practice and Social Work Today.

Writing Topic: Choose an area of practice and relate theory to practice with a case study example

Length: Submissions can not exceed 1500 words (about 3 pages)

Entry Process: Entries can be submitted in two ways:
Email submission to alumnirelations@sp2.upenn.edu
Deliver a printed copy to the Alumni Relations Office (B19)
Entries should include a cover sheet with the applicant’s name, program, anticipated graduation year, email address, and phone number.

Selection Process: All entries will be reviewed by a faculty/alumni committee. The top submissions will be forwarded to Social Work Today for final selection.

Publication: The winning piece will be included in the Social Work Today May E-news exclusive, and posted in the E-zine section of the website for a period of time.
