Applicants should have a substantive area of research relevant to our graduate programs in social work, social policy, non-profit leadership, and social welfare.
Applicants should have a record of scholarly achievement and the ability to generate external funding. All applicants should possess a doctorate in social work or a related discipline; those with a focus on social work practice must also possess an MSW and at least two years of post-master’s practice experience. There are many opportunities for collaboration within and across schools at Penn. Many medical, educational, social service, and non-profit organizations in Philadelphia and nearby areas are amenable to research.
