Alumni Relations 2007: New for the New Year

More often then not, the New Year is accompanied by both the motivation to excel in something new and the proclamation that “this will be the best year yet.” The SP² Alumni Relations Office is no exception to following that tradition, and the January issue seemed a fitting place to outline what’s “new and improved” for 2007.

Job Postings. Job Postings. And More Job Postings. Just in time for the New Year, the SP² job postings page is now live on the website at www.sp2.upenn.edu/jobs. Graduates who returned the 2006 Alumni Survey indicated that they would like to see more announcements of position openings, and this page was created as a result. In addition to being able to browse jobs, this page also allows alumni to advertise job announcements to their colleagues. To have a position posted to the SP² jobs page, email alumnirelations@sp2.upenn.edu and include “Job Posting” in the subject line. This webpage is updated every Friday.

A one-stop email address. We know you’re busy, and we’re willing to bet that figuring out to whom on the alumni relations staff you should direct your question or comment and tracking down their email address isn’t how you want to spend your free moments. So we created the alumnirelations@sp2.upenn.edu email address. It’s easy to remember, and we’ll make sure it gets directed to the appropriate person on the SP² alumni relations team. We’re here to answer your questions and we always appreciate your feedback, so send us an email today – we look forward to hearing from you!

Class Notes. Do you ever wonder what your classmates are doing now? The old Sociolog contained a Class Notes section where graduates could share professional updates with other alumni. We’re excited to announce that this important resource is now included in Penn Matters Online. To submit an update for Class Notes, email alumnirelations@sp2.upenn.edu. Updates should be prepared in paragraph format, ready for publication.

We look forward to helping you make 2007 your “best year yet” and hope that you’ll take advantage of the new programs and resources available to Social Work and Social Policy & Practice alumni. Remember, we’re just an easy email away if you have any questions or comments for the Alumni Relations Office. Happy New Year!
