Sandra R. Bauman has been Director of Field Placement at the School of Social Policy & Practice since 1976 and has placed over 3000 students. She is a graduate of the Penn MSW program, class of ’68. Before coming to Penn she did extensive work in child welfare and protective services and assisted in the development of one of the early SCOH program in this country. Ms. Bauman assisted in challenging the law in Pennsylvania by opening the first free-standing abortion clinic in Pennsylvania before Rowe vs Wade. She has served on the Boards of Planned Parenthood and Hillels of Greater Philadelphia, and on the Administrative Review Panel for Delaware County Children & Youth. Ms. Bauman co-teaches a seminar for new field instructors and oversees the field department.
