Dr. Davitt is a John A. Hartford Foundation Geriatric Social Work Faculty Scholar.
- Dr. Davitt has been a gerontological social worker since 1985.
- Dr. Davitt’s research is most concerned with the connections between policy and practice and their impact on older adults.
- Her recent research on Medicare home health care has uncovered racial disparities in access to care under the Interim Payment System.
- Her current research, Racial Disparities in Access to and Outcomes of Medicare and Home Health Care, is investigating the impact of prospective payment on access and outcomes for older adults.
- Dr. Davitt was selected into the first cohort of scholars in the Institute on Aging and Social Work, funded by the National Institute of Aging.
