Violence Against Family Caregivers by Adults with Severe Mental Illness
Description: This is a pilot study of 30 qualitative interviews with adults with severe mental illness (SMI) about threats and acts of violence toward their family caregivers. In addition, adults with SMI, who agree to participate in the pilot study, will be asked to designate a family caregiver who was the target of the act or threat of violence. Both the adults with SMI and their family caregivers will be asked to participate in a qualitative interview regarding these acts or threats of violence. The data will be used to establish feasibility for the submission of an NIMH grant submission.
