- Professor Sorenson recently joined the faculty of SP2 after 20 years at the UCLA School of Public Health.
- Public health approaches to injury and violence prevention is Dr. Sorenson's primary area of expertise. Her research focuses on the epidemiology and prevention of violence, including homicide, suicide, sexual assault, child abuse, battering, and firearms.
- A primary focus of her work is how gender, ethnicity, and nativity are related to risk of violence.
