The Career Services Office offers career advising, help with resume preparation, job search strategies, and techniques for marketing your qualifications. The SP2 counselor is Ms. Sharon Fleshman. She plans career programs specifically for social work, and is available to answer questions and help with job searches. He has office hours at the School that will be posted on the Student Lounge bulletin board. Career Services has a listing of part-time, full-time and summer job opportunities and students may also request to be placed on an email listserv that ensures they receive periodic lists of social work job postings. Students who register with Career Services have a permanent file—including references, that is available for continued use after graduation.

The Job Referral Service (JRS) assists Penn students in locating part-time and summer non-work-study employment. JRS receives listings from on-campus departments and off-campus employers in the greater Philadelphia area.

The Federal Work-Study program provides on and off-campus employment to eligible graduate students with financial need. Student Financial Services determines student eligibility.
