Research

Students devote 10-15 hours per week during the first year and 15-20 hours per week during the second through fourth years to a research apprenticeship. Students usually begin by working with their first-year advisor to identify research experiences they want to have and skills they want to build while at Penn. The advisor typically has research projects that can start to address the student’s goals. Students are encouraged to work on multiple faculty projects as well as their own research so as to develop a broad range of methodological skills.
