Costs & Financial Assistance

Costs

The financial costs associated with participation in an SP2 global course include the following:

  • payment of 1 CU of tuition and fees at SP2 (or home school)
  • course program fee, as applicable
  • visa costs, as needed
  • books and other course materials
  • airfare
  • local transportation
  • local housing, food and other ordinary living expenses
  • if needed, translation services

Students participating in formal SP2 global courses can find detailed information about costs on the web page for each course.

SP2 Student International Travel Awards

SP2 Travel Awards provide assistance to students with financial need to offset the additional costs associated with a travel course. Students may apply for a travel award when they submit the course application. (Requests for travel awards are considered separately from course acceptance decisions, and needing a travel award has no impact on whether a student’s course application is accepted.) Students are notified of any travel award they will receive when they are notified of acceptance to the course.

Travel Award details:

  • Students may only receive the travel award once. Students who participate in multiple global courses will not be eligible for more than one award.
  • The travel award is in addition to any SP2 scholarship a student is already receiving.
  • Travel awards are applied to student financial aid accounts in the term in which the course is rostered. Students cannot receive the award before the term begins.
  • If a student withdraws from the global course after the travel award has been disbursed, the award will be rescinded.
  • At this time, only students who are enrolled as a matriculated student in an SP2 degree program are eligible to receive the SP2 Student International Travel Award.
