Global Engagement

Through global inquiry, academic partnerships, collaborative research endeavors and international immersion opportunities for students, SP2 is addressing complex social problems around the world.

“No matter where any of us works or conducts research, we are all global citizens insofar as international forces (some easy to identify, others more opaque and obscure) influence the tiniest crevices of our personal lives. Whether we want to end homelessness in Philadelphia or Detroit, challenge biases in our nation’s criminal justice system, or start a nonprofit to address poverty in urban Mexico, as professionals, we need a comprehensive understanding of how global processes impact the issues we care most about.”

– Dr. John L. Jackson, Jr.

Global Opportunities for SP2 Students

Students at SP2 gain a global perspective through learning from international faculty, interacting with peers from across the globe, international curricular content, engaging in study abroad programs and global immersion experiences.

Addressing Global Social Problems

Students at SP2 are encouraged to examine complex social problems through a global lens. An interdisciplinary perspective allows them to learn the importance of considering and respecting cultural norms, political structures, and local and foreign policies.

Student and Alumni Highlights

Through hands on experiences, students have the opportunity to engage with global problems through a multicultural lens. The School is committed to preparing students to be leaders of social change across the globe.
