Barrett T. Young, MS’15, MSM, CADC

  • Chief Operating Officer of the Rescue Mission of Trenton

Barrett Young has always been a champion for those in need and those who are often overlooked in society. Prior to enrolling in the NPL program at Penn, he worked at the Rescue Mission of Trenton in various capacities since 2003. He has served as Chief Operating Officer (COO) since 2013. As COO, he is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a multimillion-dollar non-profit organization and its employees.

Through partnerships created at Penn, Barrett co-founded the Penn Restorative Entrepreneur Program (PREP). This innovative program links previously incarcerated individuals with University of Pennsylvania students in order to develop business skills, learn about entrepreneur advances and business strategies.

Barrett Young sits on the Trenton Health Team Community Advisory Board, NJ Halfway House Association and is active in the NJ Association of Mental Health and Addiction Agencies.

“The experience of being immersed in the NPL program was invaluable to my career and growth as an individual. I am grateful for the hands on application of the knowledge obtained as well as the lifelong connections I have made.”
