David Griffith, MSSP’15

  • Director of Programs and Outreach for the LGBT Elder Initiative

In his role as the Director of Programs and Outreach for the LGBT Elder Initiative, David is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating educational programming for LGBTQ older adults. These programs seek to connect older adults with culturally-sensitive services and to provide them with information and resources that will help them to age successfully. He also works within the aging services network to promote greater cultural competence for LGBTQ elders, including developing networks with local senior centers, presenting to aging services professionals, and sharing cultural competence trainings and resources. David manages communications platforms, including maintaining the website, blog, and social media accounts, as well as overseeing the production of a monthly column in the Philadelphia Gay News and other press and media relations as necessary. Through this position, he is also able to advocate for policies that address the unique needs of LGBT older adults through meetings with state and local legislators and providing testimonies at state and local hearings related to older adults.
