Tiana Marrese is a first-year PhD student at Penn’s School of Social Policy and Practice. She holds a BS in mathematics from Carnegie Mellon University and an MS in economics and management science from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Her research interest revolves around utilizing her technical background to expose the underlying patterns and trends in the spheres of volunteer behavior and nonprofit management. She particularly interested in understanding the key roles that policy plays in encouraging meaningful civic engagement.
