Consequences of volunteering
A. Stefanie Ruiz is an international doctoral student at the School of Social Policy and Practice at the University of Pennsylvania. She conducts research on nonprofits and volunteerism, specifically immigrant volunteering, and how participation in nonprofits affects immigrants’ integration into host societies. Stefanie is fluent in Spanish and German and has used her multicultural background to conduct research in several countries and interethnic communities. Prior to seeking a doctorate, Stefanie earned an MA in Nonprofit Management and Leadership from the Rothberg International School at Hebrew University, as well as a Bachelor of Science in International Business at the ESB Business School in Germany.
