Chiu Yi (Joey) Tan is a PhD student at the University of Pennsylvania School of Social Policy and Practice. She earned her BA in Psychology from San Jose State University and her MSW degree from the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor. She has contributed towards multiple psychosocial oncology projects centered around Adolescents and Young Adults (AYAs) at the University of Michigan, including a meta-analysis and oncofertility study. Before starting her PhD, she worked as a research coordinator at Michigan Medicine on several social media intervention studies, funded by NIAAA and NIDA, to address substance use behaviors among emerging adults. She is a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Michigan. Clinically, she has gained over 2 years of experience delivering mental health interventions to promote behavior change. Her research interest includes developing accessible digital health interventions to improve cancer survivorship outcomes, especially among AYAs.
