Campus Express
Campus Express is students’ easy access link to many services on campus such as housing, parking, and dining. This is primary access point for students prior to arriving on campus. The PennKey and password are needed to access this site.

Penn Portal
The Penn Portal is a customizable homepage where students can access all the information and resources for success at Penn, including Penn InTouch, the course registration and grades system. Other information ranges from local weather to course and advising information. The PennKey and password are needed to access this site.

Computer Resource Center
The Computer Resource Center is a place to have your computer or mobile device checked and configured to work at Penn.

Alumni Information
This site provides alumni information. After one year, students are eligible to obtain an alumni Penn address by clicking on the link for Quakernet.

Hardware Recommendations
If you are purchasing a new computer, please view the Penn guides for desktop and laptop/notebook computers, to ensure it will serve you well during your time here. The University provides academic discounts on computers & equipment through various resellers  Click here for more information.

Caster Building

The Caster Building will be closed to students for the 2020-2021 Academic Year.

The Caster Building hours are Monday – Friday from 8:30am – 9:30pm and Saturday between 12pm – 4pm.

The student lounge is located in Caster Room C-5. Two computers and a printer are available in the student lounge.

Computer Lab

SP2 maintains a computer lab in Caster A-18 consisting of 15 computers, digital projector, speakers, large dry erase board, and a networked printer. The student lounge in Caster C-5 provides two computers and a networked printer. Pennkey credentials are used to access the computers.  Please note that student printing in Caster is restricted to SP2 students only. Installed software includes:

  • Office
  • SPSS
  • Nvivo
  • SAS
  • ArcGIS

The computer lab will be reserved at times for classes or exams. To reserve the computer lab please email SP2’s registrar at sp2reg@sp2.upenn.edu.

Student Printing

Spring 2021 Semester

Since the Caster Building will be closed, currently enrolled SP2 students can use the Campus Copy Center for any school related printing needs using the pre-approved Purchase Order.

Process:

  • Contact sp2help@sp2.upenn.edu to obtain the PO number.
  • SP2 students can print materials in person or via the online order form using the information below.
  • No sensitive information should be printed using this service.

Printing in Caster A-18 & C-5

When printing, the default printer is set based on the room the computer is in. Students can and should use the other printer if needed.

  • A-18 Computer Lab will print on the computer lab printer (Caster A-18)
  • C-5 Student Lounge will print on the student lounge printer (Caster C-5)

A PennKey must be entered to label any print jobs. Print stations will only release if the PennKey input and Penn Card match. Print jobs will remain in the queue for up to two hours.

Students receive a print allowance for each semester; unused allowance does not roll over to the next semester. The allowance is only valid for printers in Caster A-18 and C-5. If the allowance is exceeded, students will be charged (provided they have Penn Cash on their Penn Card) at the rate of 7 cents per page single-sided and 10 cents per page double-sided. Add Penn Cash to the Penn Card.

  • September – December = $60
  • January – April = $60
  • May – August = $60
