To create a Pennkey or to reset the password, students must first obtain a Pennkey Setup Code, which is emailed or mailed to your address of record in the admissions application. Note that once selected, the Pennkey cannot be changed. The Penn Card is connected to the Pennkey; Penn Cards can be obtained at the Penn Card ID Center. More information about the Pennkey. SP2 Email All students receive an O365 email address; the account login is firstname.lastname@example.org, which is also the email address. Email addresses can also be displayed as email@example.com. New email account setup Set password Access email Configure email on a device Caster Building The Caster Building is generally unlocked Monday – Friday from 8:30am – 5:00pm. The Penn Card provides access at other authorized times (Sunday – Saturday from 8:00am – 10:00pm). Computer Lab SP2 has a computer lab located in Caster Room A-18. Although it may be reserved for classes, it is usually open 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. There are no time restrictions on the lab. Student Lounge The student lounge is located in Caster Room C-5. Two computers and a printer are available in the student lounge. Printing When printing, the default printer is set based on the room the computer is in. Students can and should use the other printer if needed. A-18 Computer Lab will print on the computer lab printer (Caster A-18) C-5 Student Lounge will print on the student lounge printer (Caster C-5) A Pennkey must be input to label any print jobs. Print stations will only release if the Pennkey input and Penn Card match. Print jobs will remain in the queue for up to two hours. Students receives a print allowance for each semester (unused allowance does not roll over to the next semester). The allowance is only valid for printers in Caster A-18 and C-5. If the allowance is exceeded, students will be charged (provided they have Penn Cash on their Penn Card) at the rate of 7 cents per page single-sided and 10 cents per page double-sided. September – December = $36 January – April = $36 May – August = $18 Resources http://www.campusexpress.upenn.edu Campus Express is students’ easy access link to many services on campus such as housing, parking, and dining. This is primary access point for students prior to arriving on campus. Other information ranges from local weather to course and advising information. Students can review and update their online information through the Update Directory Listings link. Students should also update the UPenn Alert information to allow the University to inform them of any on-going emergencies. http://www.upenn.edu/computing/wireless This page shows the wireless networks at Penn, called AirPennNet. To automate access to AirPennNet, connect to AirPennNet – Help, open a web browser, and follow the instructions. For immediate and temporary (one day) access, students can connect to the AirPennNet-Guest network and open a web browser of choice. A login window should appear which will prompting the user to enter a valid email address. http://www.library.upenn.edu/proxy This site solely provides information about accessing certain library resources from off-campus. The library page can be accessed through Penn Portal. http://www.upenn.edu/computing Click on Supported Computing Products to download antivirus software. As a Penn affiliate, students are eligible to use Penn’s antivirus software, Symantec Endpoint Protection. https://www.isc.upenn.edu/student-services The Computer Resource Center is a place to have your computer or mobile device checked and configured to work at Penn. https://www.isc.upenn.edu/how-to/penno365-office-365-proplus PennO365 provides Penn students with access to Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus services and applications. Office 365 ProPlus features a full version of Microsoft Office, which includes Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OneNote, Outlook, and more.
