Begin Your Master’s Program as an Undergraduate
Undergraduate students at the University of Pennsylvania may apply for an accelerated program of master’s degree study by seeking admission to the School of Social Policy & Practice (SP2) as submatriculants. Depending on the SP2 degree program, you may take up to two graduate courses per semester during your junior and senior years.
Interested students must follow the Policies Governing Submatriculation and the Application Process for Submatriculation of the College of Arts & Sciences, which are available on the College’s website, as well as the apply to SP2 section of our website. Individual programs of study will be determined jointly by College Academic Advisors and the Program Director/Advisor from the appropriate SP2 department.
BACHELOR OF ARTS/MASTER OF SOCIAL WORK
Submatriculation into the Master of Social Work (MSW) is an exciting opportunity for committed, exceptional students in the School of Arts and Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania who want the challenge of working directly with clients or with community-based social service organizations as they earn a BA and MSW in 5 years of study.
BACHELOR OF ARTS/MS IN SOCIAL POLICY
Submatriculation into the Master of Science in Social Policy (MSSP) is an exciting option available to committed, exceptional students in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania who want to undertake policy studies toward an MSSP, starting in the senior year of their undergraduate program. Completion of the MSSP degree requires one semester beyond the BA degree.
BACHELOR OF ARTS/MS IN NONPROFIT LEADERSHIP
The Master of Science in Nonprofit Leadership (NPL) is an innovative degree option available to students in Penn’s College of Arts and Sciences who embrace the challenge of transforming and leading in the nonprofit sector. Highly qualified students complete this accelerated program in one semester beyond their BA degree.
