Congratulations to former SP2 dean John L. Jackson, Jr.!!!!

University of Pennsylvania President Liz Magill announced that John L. Jackson, Jr. has been selected to serve as the Provost at Penn, effective June 1, 2023, following ratification by Penn’s Board of Trustees. Jackson is currently the Walter H. Annenberg Dean of the Annenberg School for Communication and Richard Perry University Professor at the University of Pennsylvania. He was previously dean of the School of Social Policy & Practice and senior advisor to the provost on Diversity at Penn. Link in bio.

Contributing to a growing emphasis on climate justice at SP2, Dr. Jisung Park has joined the School’s standing faculty as an assistant professor. He will be the featured guest in conversation with Ben Jealous at the SP2 Speaker Series event on February 15 at 12:00 EST. “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to build on the growing momentum around climate and environmental inequality at SP2 and the broader Penn community,” says Park, who comes to SP2 from the University of California, Los Angeles, where he served as an assistant professor in the Department of Public Policy.
