Bearing Witness: Four Days in West Kingston – 4:00 to 5:30 P.M.

Join us as we are treated to a private tour of this powerful exhibit at the Penn Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology by co-curator, Dr. Deborah Thomas, R. Jean Brownlee Term Professor of Anthropology. In May 2010, the “Tivoli Incursion,” a standoff between Jamaican security forces and a local drug trafficker and community leader wanted for extradition by the United States government, resulted in the death of at least 75 civilians in West Kingston on the island of Jamaica. This new exhibition—part art installation, part memorial, and part call to action—sheds light on those events through compelling video and audio footage featuring firsthand accounts of people directly impacted by the violence.

Space is limited and access granted on a first come, first served basis. The Penn Museum is located at 3260 South Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104.

All Alumni Reception – 5:30 to 8:30 P.M. *

The party under the tent is back! Fun, food favorites and live music have made this one of our most popular events. This event is open to the entire SP2 community. This year we will celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the DSW program, and induct our inaugural cohort to the SP2 Hall of Fame!

Second Century Society Jazz Brunch – 11:00  to 1:00 P.M. *

Historically reserved for members of the SP2 alumni community ages 55 and over, this year’s event is open to all graduates. Enjoy great food and live jazz music at Alumni Weekend’s final event.

*Event will take place at the Caster Building and courtyard, located at 3701 Locust Walk, Philadelphia, PA 19104
